This is a make-up race from 1956. The Stuart Stock Car Association, Inc. found through research that the race scheduled on Mother's Day in 1956 was postponed after the racers were already at the track. "Misty, cold weather Sunday forced the postponement of the initial stock car race scheduled for the local track. As yet, the committee hasn't agreed on a date for the postponed race, but announcement will undoubtedly be forthcoming."
This is that announcement: The postponed race from 1956 will be made up Sunday, April 30th 2017 with a Vintage Stock Car Show 11:00 am - 1:30 pm and a Vintage Stock Car Race at 2:30 p.m.
